<i>This is one of the key reasons why many students don't gain admission into the university. </i>For instance, if a student who want to gain admission into Nigerian university through <b>UTME</b> exams, unfortunately perform very poor in the examination, he or she may not gain admission. This is because, performing stupendously in <b>UTME examinations</b> is prerequisite for gaining admission (using JAMB results). </div>

Apart from JAMB examination, there are so many other examinations, which students are expected to surmount, before gaining admission into the University. Last few years, I had a friend who had to forfeit his admission to the University of Benin <b><i>because he had a wrong subject combination</i></b>, which obviously would have been rejected by the university if he had taken it there. </div>

Failing to plan has made many students resort to studying in a polytechnic and other kinds of institution, since they apparently cannot study in their choice of university. Failing to plan is another core reason why many students don't gain admission into the University.</div>

There is no doubt that lack of authentic information, is one of the reasons why many students don't gain admission into the university. In fact, it is one of the<i><b> key reasons</b></i>. The truth is that many of the examination bodies and universities in Nigeria, only disseminate news through the internet, and students who don't have access to the internet find it very difficult to get these news. Thus, they are easily dupped by fraudsters.</div>

More so, it is not just about getting information, but getting the right information. Some years ago, WAEC announced that <b><i>a particular website which many students had thought was authentic, is actually fake. </i></b>You never can tell how many students has been denied admission because of that website. So, is it not just about getting information, it is about getting <i><b>authentic information</b></i>.</div>

There is a consolidated notion of examination malpractice amongst students of now a days . And this notwithstanding, has been one the reasons why many students don't gain admission into the university. </div>

As regards to this, examination bodies in the country has devised new ways to curb this act. In <b>2017</b>, about 40% of the students who wrote WAEC examination <b><i>had their results seized. </i></b>And so, it was one of the reason why many students who intended to study in the university failed to gain admission. <b><i>Thus, it is right to say that examination malpractice, is one of the cogent reasons why may students don't gain admission into the university.</i></b></div>

Another reason why many students fail to gain admission into the university is <i><b>poor funding</b></i>. Students who don't have enough money to pay acceptance fees or school fees for themselves, are felt with no other choice, than to forfeit their admission, or to apply for other kinds of higher institution, other than the university.</div>
