The Abia State University (ABSU), is one of the most prominent and competitive universities in Nigeria. The university was established in 1981 by Sam Mbekwe (former Governor of Imo State). The university offer undergraduate, graduate and doctory degrees. Abia State University has two campuses; one in Oturu and another in Umuahia, capital of Abia State.
